Kauai adventures center mainly around hiking and boating/kayaking. The views are unsurpassed, but be forewarned that they are not for the faint of heart. If hiking, research your hike carefully, as some have steep trails that the weather can make treacherous. Plan for plenty of time, and take more water than you think you will need. Remember at all times that this is not Disneyland, and rockslides, flash floods, ocean currents, and wildlife are beyond anyone’s control. But that is what will make your adventure all that more rewarding and unforgettable. If kayaking, also research and if not experienced, do not consider going it alone, especially in the ocean. And even if an experienced kayaker, local conditions are tricky, and can be dangerous. There are many group excursions, and there is safety in numbers.
